FareGlobe Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

FareGlobe ("the app") estimates ride fares. This policy explains what information the app uses and why.

Information the app uses

Pickup and drop searches. When you search for a place or pick a route, the text you type and the selected places are sent directly to Google Maps Platform (Places API and Routes API) to find places and calculate road distance and travel time. This is handled under the Google Privacy Policy. FareGlobe does not run its own servers and does not store your searches.
Rate updates. The app uses Google Firebase Remote Config to download current fare rates. Firebase uses an installation identifier to deliver these updates. See Firebase privacy information.
Ads. From version 1.1, the free app shows a banner ad served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about how you interact with ads. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google's advertising policies.
Your ad choices. Where the law requires consent (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), the app asks before personalised ads are shown, using Google's consent tool. You can change your choice at any time from Privacy options at the bottom of the app. On any Android device you can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads.
Settings on your device. Rates you edit in Fare settings are saved only on your phone.

No account or sign-in.
No access to your GPS location, contacts, photos or files.
No selling of your data. Apart from the ads described above, nothing is shared with advertisers.

All network requests use encrypted HTTPS connections.

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
